Garden Turkey Burger

pound lean ground turkey breast
·
1
cup finely chopped red onion, rinsed
·
½
cup finely chopped red bell pepper
·
1
large egg white
·
¼
cup chopped fresh watercress leaves
·
3
tablespoons teriyaki sauce
·
1
to 2 teaspoons jerk seasoning (to taste)
·
Salt
and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Canola
oil cooking spray
In
a large bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped red onion, bell pepper, egg white,
watercress leaves, teriyaki sauce, and jerk seasoning, and salt and pepper to
taste. Stir until well blended. Form the turkey mixture into 6 equal
patties.
Heat
a non-stick griddle or large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and spray
trice lightly with canola oil cooking spray.
Place each patty on griddle, in batches if necessary, and cook for 3 to
5 minutes on each side. The burgers
should not be pink in the middle. (You
can also do this on an outdoor grill).
Remove
the burgers from the heat and serve as desired in a whole wheat bun.
